COMPANY NEWS

Happy Independence Day!  Yes it’s passed but its always important to honour the day we attained our freedom and became Zambia.  This year I was honoured to attend the honours and awards ceremony at State House that recognized the achievements of those that have diligently served our beautiful country.  One particular recipient stood out to me and that was Mr. Andrew Sardanis who was awarded the Order of the Eagle – one of the highest accolades that can be awarded by the Zambian government.  The award was given for Mr. Sardanis’ contribution to the economic development of the country spanning as far back as the 1950s when he first came to Zambia.  He was unable to attend the ceremony and was instead represented by his son Stelios Sardanis pictured with me here.

Among one of his many achievements mentioned at the ceremony was Chaminuka Lodge, Lusaka’s largest private game park.  I’m proud that we have been marketing Chaminuka Wildlife Estates on our platform.  If you would like more information on this estate please click here or watch the YouTube video here

Its scorching hot as we and the rest of SADC region experience a heat wave with soaring temperatures but work still goes on!  In this month’s newsletter, I continue to give you my top insights of the ZAMREAL conference – Zambia’s foremost real estate conference.  I also end my two part series on Gloria Zimba’s excellent advice on how to buy property without getting swindled.  The highlight of this edition though is the national budget for 2020.  The Minister of Finance Bwalya N’gandu announced his first budget and I do the analysis for you from a property perspective.  Read together with the ZAMREAL summary you will see there are still many opportunities in real estate particularly for those that have an appetite to invest outside the expensive capital city.

As always, I would love to hear from you about any property related subject you would like me to cover in the newsletter.  Please don’t hesitate to drop me a line by clicking on this LINK and I’ll do my best to prepare it for you.  Have a great month!
